The EU-US Senior Officials Meeting on Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) brings EU and US Senior Officials together to strengthen cooperation in the areas of security and justice.

Senior officials from the European Union and from the United States meet every six months to discuss key areas of cooperation on security and justice. In particular they focus on cooperation in the fight against organised and serious crime, drug trafficking and terrorism. The Senior Officials meeting will prepare for a later meeting at Ministerial Level between the EU and the US, where the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration will represent the Council of the European Union. From the EU side, the Senior Officials Meeting is attended by representatives of the Irish Presidency, the European Commission, Europol and Eurojust, the General Secretariat of the Council and the Office of the EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator. On the US side, the meeting is attended by representatives from the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the US State Department.
