Cork City Hall
The Government of Ireland has decided that commercial sponsorship will not be sought to deliver the central operational and logistical requirements of Ireland’s 2026 Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

This relates to the centrally managed operational and logistical requirements of government-led meetings and events in Ireland.

To clarify any potential sponsorship questions relating to ancillary events or other aspects outside the central operational and logistical requirements of delivering government-led meetings and events, Presidency Sponsorship Guidelines were developed.

The Guidelines are aligned with guidance issued by the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union. They set out the framework for the consideration and management of any sponsorship proposals in respect of Presidency-related events held in Ireland and organised by Government Departments and Agencies. The Guidelines apply directly to these bodies, and other public sector organisations involved in the organisation of Presidency events are encouraged to have due regard to their principles.

For transparency, as set out in the guidelines, details of any sponsorship agreements entered into will be published on this website.
