This is an informal, joint policy formation in which EU Foreign Ministries and Culture Ministries meet for strategic reflection and discussion on the EU’s international cultural relations. It normally takes place once per Presidency.
With the geostrategic relevance of cultural relations increasing in this time of global disorder, destabilisation and great-power competition, the cultural directors of foreign ministries and the international directors of culture ministries gather to share perspectives, strategic reflection and identify how the EU can strengthen its coherence and impact in this ‘soft power’ space. The EU institutions and a number of other multilateral organisations and guests also take part in the meeting.
