This conference, hosted by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) will explore two significant aspects of the European Commission’s Skills Portability Initiative: third country qualifications framework comparison and the development and implementation of micro-credentials.
The conference programme will explore the challenges and opportunities associated with third country comparison and micro-credentials, and the tension between European and third country approaches.
International experts will share their perspectives on the role of comparison of EQF to third country frameworks to deliver trust, transparency and mobility with opportunities for deeper discussions via breakout sessions.
Attendees will also learn about Irish experiences of delivering micro credentials in higher and vocational education settings in response to national skills needs. Discussions will consider the relationships between non-formal education contexts and national qualifications frameworks.
