This Presidency conference will examine the lifecycle of medicines from clinical trials through to access and supply, supporting discussion of emerging opportunities for EU competitiveness and innovation
Ireland’s Presidency-based Conference on Clinical Trials and Medicines Access is a major European gathering focused on shaping the future of medicines policy, innovation, and access.
Across European healthcare systems, access to medicine and Europe’s role in pharmaceutical development has entered a pivotal moment. Building on the momentum of the recently concluded EU Pharma Package and recognising the strong focus within the Biotech Act on clinical trials, the conference will examine the full lifecycle of medicines from the design and conduct of clinical trials to long‑term security of supply. It will provide a forum to help shape the next phase of EU health legislation, including emerging opportunities in life sciences and regulatory innovation.
With major reforms underway, the discussions held here will help inform how Europe supports scientific innovation, strengthens clinical trial capacity, and ensures timely, equitable access to medicines for all citizens.
The event will bring together senior EU policymakers, regulators, health technology assessment bodies, industry leaders in research and development, patient organisations and international experts.
