The informal meeting of Political Directors, on 29-30 October 2026, provides an opportunity for senior officials to discuss EU Foreign and Security Policy issues and the latest international developments.
Ireland, in cooperation with the European External Action Service, is organising an informal meeting of EU Political Directors.
The informal meeting of EU Political Directors takes place every six months, once during each Presidency. The meeting provides an opportunity for senior officials to discuss developments, priorities and perspectives on key issues related to the EU’s foreign and security policies.
The meeting is attended by the Political Directors of EU Member States and officials from the European External Action Service and European Commission, providing a valuable forum for informal exchanges among senior officials.
Political Directors are senior diplomatic officials responsible for shaping, directing and coordinating foreign policy within their respective foreign ministries.
