The Bologna Process is an intergovernmental initiative that promotes cooperation in higher education among countries participating in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

The Bologna Follow Up Group (BFUG) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the implementation of the Bologna Process between Ministerial Conferences.

The Dublin meeting will bring together delegates from Bologna Process Member States, as well as representatives from the European Commission and Consultative member organisations. Attendees will include officials from central government, state agencies, local authorities, and non-governmental bodies.

Key areas of focus will include agreement on a new ECTS User Guide, revisions to the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance, and the establishment of a new long-term secretariat.

The event will highlight Ireland’s active role in strengthening European cooperation in higher education and will help raise the profile of the Bologna Process at a national level.
