The informal meeting of Directors-General and Attachés for Fisheries brings together officials from across the Union to discuss issues related to the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy.

Under the Irish EU Presidency, an informal meeting of EU Directors-General and Attachés for Fisheries will take place in Cork on 9 - 11 September 2026.

Delegates in attendance will include Directors-General and Fisheries Attachés from across EU Member States, as well as representatives from the European Commission Directorate for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union.

The meeting is an opportunity for delegates to consider issues relating to the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy, especially in view of the publication in May of the Commission’s Evaluation of the CFP Regulation and in advance of the publication in the autumn of the Commission’s Vision 2040 for Fisheries and Aquaculture.
