This is a regular meeting of senior officials responsible for forestry policy across EU Member States.
The informal meeting of Forestry Directors remains an important event in helping to maintain effective European forest governance, and provides a unique forum where Directors can establish and strengthen relationships and ties with colleagues from other Member States.
Hosting this event in Ireland provides a significant opportunity to showcase Irish forests and forestry to colleagues from across the European Union. It is an occasion for Ireland to demonstrate the successes of our afforestation ambition, our commitment to the principles and practices of sustainable forest management and the contribution of our multifunctional forest plantations to climate, nature, wood, people and the economy.
