The Issue Group on Agriculture Forestry and Other Land Use (IG AFOLU) tracks and reports how human activities like farming, forestry, and land management either release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere or pull carbon dioxide out of it.
This meeting will facilitate Member State experts and the European Commission to prepare position papers and a negotiation strategy in advance of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties (COP31) meeting in Antalya, Türkiye in November 2026.
The meeting will examine how to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions in the forestry, agriculture and other land use sectors to combat climate change.
