Meeting of the Contact Points of the European Judicial Network in Civil and Commercial Matters.
This meeting is an important tool for judicial co-operation in the EU civil justice area. The network aims to simplify and strengthen judicial co-operation between EU Member States to the benefit of citizens and businesses involved in cross-border civil commercial and family cases. It supports national central authorities established by specific Union law instruments and facilitates contacts between different courts through a network of national contact points.
The meeting will focus on the operation of the ‘Brussels IIb Regulation’ - EU legislation on jurisdiction, the recognition and enforcement of decisions in matrimonial matters and the matters of parental responsibility, and on international child abduction.
