HERCA (Heads of the European Radiological Protection Competent Authorities) is a voluntary association of the Radiation Protection Authorities in Europe. HERCA brings together 56 competent authorities from 32 European countries with the goal to contribute to a high level of radiological protection throughout Europe.
This event is a meeting of the HERCA Working Group on Medical Applications (WG MA) and will bring together the competent authorities from Member States to share information, experience and discuss radiation protection issues in all settings where ionising radiation is used for medical applications, such as general and interventional radiology, dental, nuclear medicine and radiotherapy settings. Representatives from international agencies including the European Commission, the IAEA and the WHO will also attend and contribute to the discussions and planning for future work of the WG MA. A number of pre-meetings of the sub-groups will be conducted in advance of the 1.5-day plenary meeting.

New technologies including artificial intelligence.
