The Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union will bring together delegates from the Working Party on Humanitarian Aid and Food Aid (COHAFA), which prepares the Council’s work on the EU’s humanitarian action and coordinates the EU’s response to humanitarian crises.
The informal meeting of the Working Party on Humanitarian Aid and Food Aid (COHAFA) will be a two-day event hosting EU Member State delegates of the COHAFA Working Party in Dublin.
Formal COHAFA meetings are held on a monthly basis in Brussels, which convenes capitals-based delegates from Member States. Discussions are focused on humanitarian policy and operations. Agendas for both the formal and informal meetings are set by the Presidency and strike a balance between the priorities of the Presidency, and issues of critical importance for the EU and Member States as a group. COHAFA meetings include briefings from speakers and discussions with the European Commission and the European External Action Service (EEAS) on specific policy topics and geographic crises.
The two-day COHAFA Informal Meeting in Dublin will centre on a plenary discussion on the 24th September 2026. The second day will include a site visit to a location related to the meeting’s discussions.
