As part of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026, Ireland will host the International AI Summit, as the official launch of European AI innovation Month which concludes in Brussels on 17 November.
This flagship event, taking place on 14 October 2026 in Dublin, will bring together EU & global leaders, Heads of Government, CEOs, investors, innovators and academics.
The Summit will serve as a high-level platform for discussion, collaboration and strategic dialogue on the opportunities for future application of artificial intelligence in Europe and globally.
The Summit’s theme “Harnessing AI to Revolutionise Europe’s Competitiveness” will explore how Europe can strengthen its global position in applied and trustworthy AI while supporting innovation, competitiveness and responsible deployment.
The International AI Summit will reinforce Europe’s position as a global leader in applied artificial intelligence while showcasing Ireland’s distinctive strengths as a hub for innovation, technology and collaboration to drive competitiveness and productivity.
As a flagship event within Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the International AI Summit will bring together leaders from across government, industry, academia and the innovation ecosystem to explore how Europe can accelerate the responsible development and deployment of AI.
Ireland offers a uniquely strong platform for this international gathering. Sixteen of the world’s top twenty global technology companies and eight of the leading providers of foundational AI models have their main EU establishment in Ireland. Together with world-class research, a highly skilled workforce, entrepreneurial start-ups and established European companies, this creates a diverse and highly connected innovation ecosystem. Ireland’s reputation as a location of choice for global technology and AI companies has fostered a vibrant environment where research, industry and policy collaborate to translate AI innovation into real-world applications at scale.
The International AI Summit will highlight how Europe can harness this collaborative environment to strengthen its global leadership in applied and trustworthy AI. At the same time, it will demonstrate how Ireland’s digital infrastructure, talent base and multinational integration make it an ideal bridge between global innovation and European market scale.
The event will provide an important platform for dialogue between European and international stakeholders. By convening senior decision-makers, innovators and thought leaders in one location, the AI Summit will facilitate meaningful exchange on the opportunities associated with the growing adoption of artificial intelligence. It will also highlight Europe’s commitment to developing AI that is competitive, innovative, responsible and aligned with democratic values.
The International AI Summit will feature a full day of high-level engagement and discussion. Ministerial addresses and keynote speeches from global leaders will set the strategic context for Europe’s AI future, examining the policy, economic and technological forces shaping the next phase of innovation. The keynotes will be complemented by panel discussions and fireside chats bringing together policymakers and industry leaders to explore critical themes including; Applied AI & Sectoral Value Creation, Infrastructure- Building Europe’s AI Capacity and the AI Opportunity Ahead.
The Summit will highlight practical examples of AI adoption and collaboration, illustrating how businesses, public services and research institutions are deploying AI solutions to improve productivity, deliver new services and address complex societal challenges.
