The Informal Meeting of EU Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Directors is chaired by the European External Action Service. It brings together national officials to discuss common EU approaches in multilateral fora and frameworks on weapons of mass destruction and conventional weapons.

Officials from each EU Member State will meet to discuss and coordinate common EU approaches in relevant multilateral fora and frameworks on weapons of mass destruction and conventional weapons. This is a meeting hosted by each Presidency of the Council, and chaired by the EU’s External Action Service.

The meeting will take stock of progress in UN multilateral fora and treaty frameworks, including: the UN General Assembly First Committee (Disarmament and International Security); the Conference on Disarmament; the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons; the Biological Weapons Convention; the Chemical Weapons Convention; the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons; the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (Ottawa Convention); the UN Programme of Action on Small Arms and Light Weapons; and the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT).
